Ann Schwartz is an oil painter of colorful abstracts, impressionistic and figurative/subjective work. She resides in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, two daughters, and mischievous dog where she can be found covered in paint on any given day in her home studio.
Ann is constantly inspired by the nearby marshes, beaches, downtown gardens, and even theoccasional grocery store flowers. As a “black thumb” gardener, Ann is drawn to floral paintings as she knows they will last forever and give any room a fun pop of color. Ann’s art is heavily influenced by her fondness for interior design by taking fabrics and striking interiors as a jumping point for her paintings.
She loves to experiment with new mediums, collages, and techniques by adding texture, layers and a little bit of chaos into every painting. Her loose painting style communicates her paintings with suggestions rather than describing everything with precise detail.
Her artwork has been featured in HGTV magazine as well as the 2022 Southern Living Idea House.
